I sprained my ankle last Sunday while playing soccer and even though there was no swelling, I could barely use my left foot to run (especially turn) back then and even though I feel okay (it hurts when I stretch my ankle though), I wonder if I should play my match on Sunday. Anybody sprained their ankle before?

footy, if it hasn't healed completely, don't put stress on it so soon. you are lucky that it wasn't that serious. i had a sprained ankle when i was in highschool and it was so bad that i couldn't even walk for a week. I got that sprain because my ankle twisted when a friend pushed me off the playground. Couldn't even lift my leg, I was luck that my teachers were kind enough to carry me home.

if it still hurts, that means your torn ligament is still in the healing process, let it heal completely. you go out and play on Sunday and if you put stress on your already torn ligament, you might end up tearing it really bad. you don't want to rely on crutches for next week or so after the game, do you?

Hey friend, sorry to hear that. Its very important to take rest because if u  play again then it will be more problem. If its mild injury then
follow RICE...
REst, Ice, compression and elevation. Allow much time for healing and give rest for a while.
Hope it helps.

Thanks guys. I feel okay but while crossing the street during my lunch break, when I tried to run, I could feel some pain. There's plenty of soccer to be played so I guess I'll wait till Sunday and then decide if I'll play or not. I won't take a chance though.

On a different note, ever since I tweaked my ankle last Sunday, its been raining hard. Maybe god wanted me to wait instead of rushing.
